Job summary

Rhode Island Housing is seeking a Junior Paralegal to support the Legal Department by preparing and reviewing legal documents, conducting research, and providing administrative support. This hybrid role is based in Providence, RI, and part of the Executive team, enabling face-to-face collaboration in the office.

The position requires at least three years of paralegal experience, plus strong drafting, research, and communication skills.

Qualifications

Minimum three years of paralegal or legal assistant experience.
Experience drafting corporate and legal transactional documents for attorney review.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to understand and apply statutes, regulations, and program requirements.
Strong legal research, report-generation, and organizational skills.
Experience using legal database software; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Prepare and amend legal documents for attorney review (corporate, real estate, notices, pleadings).
Prepare, file, and record documents to protect security interests and maintain good standing.
Prepare responses to summonses, subpoenas, and public records requests for review.
Coordinate and track corporate filings for Rhode Island Housing and affiliates.
Attend in-person meetings and coordinate execution of documents.
