Job summary

Outten & Golden LLP is seeking a Paralegal to provide organizational and practice-specific assistance from case inception through post-trial. The role requires on-site presence at the Firm’s New York, Washington DC, or Oakland offices for three to four days a week, with more on-site support during pretrial and trial phases.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years as a paralegal or case manager at a law firm.
• Familiarity with federal and state court litigation procedures and trial technology.
• Paralegal certification or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate logistics during negotiations, arbitrations, trials, and settlements; create trial notebooks and organize exhibits.
• Organize and prepare pleadings and discovery documents; support litigation by reviewing and compiling documents.
• Assist and manage the discovery process; prepare for depositions and expert discovery.
• Interact with clients and vendors to pursue investigations and case administration.
• Conduct factual and legal research to support case development.
• Draft, proofread, and format routine correspondence and litigation documents per applicable rules.
• Proofread briefs; perform cite-checking and Shepardize case law.
• Maintain electronic case files and large document databases.
• Train junior members of the Litigation Operations team.
• Assist with administrative tasks and ad hoc assignments for attorneys.
• Proactively take on other duties as necessary.
