Job summary

Bet Tzedek Legal Services in Los Angeles seeks a paralegal to support the Access to Justice Program, with a primary focus on the Self-Help Conservatorship Clinic. You will assist self-represented litigants, conduct intake, and coordinate clinics, both in-person and virtual.

The role requires a paralegal certificate or degree, English/Spanish bilingual ability, and experience supporting multiple attorneys, with strong organizational and public-speaking skills.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate/degree from ABA-approved institution or bachelor's degree with 1 year law-related experience.
• Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.
• Proficiency with MS Office and LexisNexis; familiarity with online court systems.
• Experience supporting multiple attorneys; strong organizational and public speaking skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist self-represented litigants under supervision with court procedures and document preparation.
• Conduct intake and record information in the case management system.
• Coordinate and support Access to Justice Clinics and workshops, in-person and virtual.
• Manage high-volume phone intake and connect clients to clinic services.
• Prepare forms and petitions, especially probate conservatorship matters, under supervision.
• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers with the Pro Bono Department.
• Collaborate with court partners and community organizations.
• Maintain accurate case management, data entry, and compliance with policies.
