Job summary

Great American Insurance Group is seeking a Claims Technical Director to lead a growing book of property and construction defect claims. The role may involve other lines such as Ocean Marine and Aviation and requires cross-training and licensure across states.

The candidate should be a self-starter with strong written, verbal, and listening skills. Located in Cincinnati, candidates may be on-site four days per week with one remote day; remote work is possible for those outside the Cincinnati

Qualifications

• Ten+ years in property & casualty claims, including general liability or property litigation.
• Construction defect claims experience strongly preferred.
• Completion or progress toward AIC or CPCU preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a book of claims, including construction defect and property claims of significant size or complexity.
• Conduct thorough investigations and assess coverage and liability.
• Lead arbitration, mediation, settlements, or trials as needed.
• Negotiate settlements within authority and advise on cases beyond authority.
• Explain complex information to all stakeholders with a professional demeanor.
• Ensure compliance with statutes, regulations, and company policies.
• Serve as technical expert on assigned product(s).
• Advise senior management on strategic issues.
