Job summary

Stem IT in Midtown Manhattan, New York, is seeking a Software Engineer to join a fast-paced fintech team. The role involves building scalable applications and delivering core fintech solutions for underserved customers, with three days onsite per week.

The ideal candidate will have strong Java experience and solid OOP fundamentals, plus familiarity with relational and non-relational databases, REST APIs, and containerization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field is required.
• Strong fundamentals in OOP and software design patterns.
• Experience with relational and non-relational DBs.
• Experience with containerization and deployment tools.
• Familiarity with REST, JDBC, and multi-tier architecture.
• Experience with AI tools like Claude, Cursor, Gemini.
• Background with Python, TypeScript, and/or Next.js is a plus.
