Job summary

Early Warning is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications that power our core fintech services in a hybrid work model. You will contribute to secure software engineering practices and collaborate across teams to deliver robust features.

The role emphasizes Spring Boot web services, SQL data querying, and CI/CD pipelines, with opportunities to work on high-scale systems used by major financial institutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years direct experience in software engineering.
• Proficient with Git source control and Git flow branching model.
• Spring / Spring Boot framework is required.
• Familiarity with modern DevOps practices.
• Familiarity writing automated tests.
• Proficient with SQL.
• Proficient in RESTful service design.
• Experience with Docker/ Kubernetes.
• Experience with Kafka.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the discussion and implementation around complex capabilities.
• Develops complex features and capabilities to enhance the Early Warning core product offerings.
• Managing source code using Git.
• Receiving, reviewing, and approving pull requests ensuring that code quality remains high.
• Querying platform data using SQL-based DBs.
• Working on complex Java Web Services using Spring Boot.
• Document complex details and decisions in Confluence.
• Building automated tests alongside sprint work that is integrated into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Able to troubleshoot complex bugs that may arise during development.
• Support the company’s commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.
