Job summary

Sedgwick in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner to analyze NY Lost-Time claims and determine benefits. The role requires NY jurisdiction experience and NY licensing, with a hybrid work schedule (2 days in-office/3 days remote) and potential remote work outside commutable distance.

You will adjudicate complex claims, negotiate settlements, and coordinate with claimants and clients while benefiting from Sedgwick's global network and strong development opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2 years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Professional certification as applicable to line of business preferred.
• Jurisdiction Knowledge: NY
• Licensing: NY required

Responsibilities

• Analyzing and processing NY Lost-Time Workers Compensation claims to determine benefits.
• Negotiating settlements within designated authority.
• Communicating claim activity with the claimant and client.
• Reporting claims to excess carrier and coordinating directions professionally.
