Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Nuclear Technical Engineer to support the UK MoD's naval nuclear propulsion programme. You will provide safety and technical advice across Naval Reactor Plants, interfacing with multiple disciplines to deliver balanced, timely support.

This hands-on role emphasizes nuclear safety passion, with comprehensive training across technical areas. The team operates under strict regulatory standards and offers flexible, hybrid working patterns in the UK.

Qualifications

• Degree in science or engineering (Level 6 minimum).
• Clear, concise technical writing and communication skills.
• Knowledge or experience with Naval Reactor Plant and safety cases is desirable.
• Membership of a professional institution is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide authoritative safety and technical assessments to MoD.
• Support meetings with MoD and contractors.
• Coordinate output across relevant technical disciplines.
• Adhere to safety, technical and regulatory standards on programme/budget.
• Promote health, safety, environment and security in all work.
