Job summary

The Indiana University Foundation is seeking an Accounting Manager to support the shared goals of IU Foundation and IU Alumni Association. You will maintain GAAP-compliant financial records, manage reporting, and coordinate the annual audit and Form 990 filings.

Based in Bloomington, this hybrid role requires guidance to staff, collaboration with multiple stakeholders, and clear communication of financial information to non-finance partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA or progress toward CPA a plus.
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Nonprofit, higher education, or foundation experience preferred.
• Supervisory or mentoring experience preferred.
• Experience supporting audits and preparing audit schedules.

Responsibilities

• Maintain integrity of IUAA's financial records and GAAP compliance.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting; build management reports and variance analyses.
• Coordinate IUAA audit and Form 990/990-T filings; prepare audit schedules.
• Review transactions; confirm billing and cost-sharing between IUAA and partners; monitor budgets.
• Act as liaison between IUAA and IUF Finance; supervise staff and guide development; communicate financial information clearly.
