Job summary

Optym, a leading provider of decision automation and optimization software, seeks a Node.js Engineer for its Dallas Labs team. This backend-focused role builds scalable APIs and services to support complex optimization workflows and real-time decisions.

Collaborate with algorithm engineers, product managers, and frontend developers to deliver reliable backend systems, while mentoring juniors and adopting modern design patterns and testing practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proficient in NodeJS 10.0 and above.
• Experience with ExpressJs, NestJs or equivalent framework.
• Knowledge of parallel and asynchronous programming.
• Experience with NoSQL DB, preferably DynamoDB.
• Experience with Lambda.
• Experience in OOP, design patterns, and unit testing patterns.
• Understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• Experience in code review, inspections, and Git usage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Determines technical feasibility of medium to low complexity features by evaluating requirements and tech needs.
• Prioritizes tasks and selects methods for solutions.
• Creates low-level design with documentation and diagrams.
• Develops software by clarifying needs, analyzing data, and following development practices.
• Updates knowledge by studying current tools and computing tech.
• Guides junior team members on coding and best practices.
