Job summary

Eleven Recruiting is assisting a non-profit technology and networking organization in La Mirada, CA to hire a Network Operations Engineer. You will monitor, diagnose, and respond to network issues on a production environment, coordinate with vendors, and manage incident tickets from intake to resolution.

The role requires 2+ years in network operations, hands-on Cisco/Juniper experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in network operations or a similar environment.
• Experience supporting customers and stakeholders via phone and ticketing systems.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar production network equipment.
• Experience with network configuration, firmware updates, equipment maintenance, or related operational activities.
• Experience troubleshooting Layer 3 routing and network performance issues.
• Understanding of routing protocols and network troubleshooting methodologies.
• Understanding of network security fundamentals, including ACLs, firewalls, secure device configuration, and intrusion detection.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple incidents and requests in a fast-paced operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network infrastructure to identify and resolve issues before they affect services.
• Review monitoring alerts, turnover reports, scheduled maintenance, and overall network conditions.
• Participate in rotating triage to investigate alarms, respond to calls, and address service requests.
• Serve as primary contact for customers, vendors, and carriers experiencing network issues.
• Provide initial diagnosis and troubleshooting for incidents, outages, and service interruptions.
• Manage incident tickets from intake through resolution with timely updates.
• Communicate outage notifications and network status to stakeholders.
• Execute approved network changes, including firmware updates and maintenance.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate incident records and network equipment inventory.
