Job summary

Verizon in Virginia is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead cross-functional network design projects across WAN, LAN, security and data center domains. You will mentor Lifecycle and Implementation Engineering teams, own solution designs, and collaborate with PMO, Product Development and delivery partners to drive customer-focused outcomes.

The role requires deep expertise in SDWAN, CSP/Cloud interconnects, QoS, firewalling and virtualization, with a track record of delivering complex client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
• Experience leading engineers on multiple large projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Mentor Lifecycle and Implementation Engineering teams.
• Design and support solutions involving WAN/LAN/WLAN/VoIP and data center technologies.
• Analyze network capacity and performance to improve customer networks.
• Oversee customer network documentation and change records.
• Serve as Tier 3 escalation engineer for customer incidents.
• Present and demonstrate technology and client solutions to stakeholders.
• Own solution designs and address critical issues as an escalation engineer.
