Job summary

Town of Gilbert is seeking a Network Engineer I to maintain and improve the Town's data center and network infrastructure. You will analyze, design, install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPN, and wireless gear to keep services secure and reliable.

The role emphasizes collaboration with staff and leadership, on-call responsibilities, and a hybrid work environment with partial remote work. A degree plus IT experience are required, with CCNA/Network+ preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or related field with appropriate certifications
• Three years of experience in information technology
• Two years of enterprise network design and administration, including firewall security
• Must be able to pass a Police background check
• Valid Arizona Driver License; on-call rotation participation

Responsibilities

• Architect, install, and support connectivity for the Town's LAN/WAN network, solving complex problems that keep services running smoothly
• Lead the implementation of enterprise networking systems, bringing your expertise to project meetings that shape equipment and solutions
• Serve as a go-to technical resource for teammates, helping the whole team deliver better service
• Bring judgment to the table with ownership in shaping recommendations
• Architect, manage, and support backup solutions that keep systems and applications highly available
