Job summary

Veritext Legal Solutions is seeking a Payroll Manager, North America, to lead payroll for employees across the United States and Canada. You will oversee Dayforce processing, ensure compliance with evolving laws, and drive process improvements with cross-functional teams.

You will guide transitions for newly acquired companies, manage payroll audits and tax filings, and mentor a growing payroll function within a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of payroll experience across US states and Canada.
• Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance.
• Dayforce experience is highly preferred.
• CPP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own payroll from start to finish for US and Canada, biweekly via Dayforce.
• Stay ahead of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Streamline processes, strengthen controls, and improve accuracy.
• Communicate clearly with employees and train managers on payroll processes.
• Lead payroll integrations for newly acquired companies and transitions.
• Oversee audits, tax filings, reconciliations, and year-end reporting.
• Collaborate with People and Finance on compensation changes and closes.
• Develop the payroll team with mentorship and clear expectations.
• Manage vendor relationships and system updates for payroll.
