Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group in Madison, WI is seeking a mid-level Municipal Engineer to design and rehabilitate municipal infrastructure including water, stormwater and wastewater systems. You will lead projects from planning through construction documentation, with field assessments and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes data analysis, technical reporting, and effective communication, with a hybrid work model combining Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Wisconsin or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Working knowledge of capital improvement plans, sewer and water infrastructure, hydraulics, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficient skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ideally experience with AutoCAD, ProjectWise and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Master planning for outside-the-fence assets including capacity, condition, and preliminary engineering.
• Watermain, storm sewer, and sanitary sewer replacement planning and design with detailed construction documents.
• Design reports for sizing of water, wastewater, and stormwater systems based on growth or climate models.
• Develop capital improvement plans prioritizing infrastructure needs.
• Opinions of probable construction costs.
• Coordinate regulatory agency permitting, project funding, and stakeholder involvement.
