Job summary

Babcock is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to support a critical national defence satellite communications programme. The role focuses on design, modernization, and maintenance of secure IT systems, with emphasis on on-premise infrastructure, virtualization, and network management.

You will join a team delivering hosting platform enhancements, while ensuring compliance with security policies. The role requires SC/DV clearance and Sole UK National status, with some flexibility for home

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant Engineering Discipline
• Must be able to obtain SC/DV clearance and be Sole UK National

Responsibilities

• Maintain, develop and improve on-premise IT platform services to support critical national infrastructure.
• Ensure services are patched and maintained according to internal and customer policies.
• Provide 3rd/4th line technical support to the customer and satellite teams.
• Be part of an on-call rota to support fault diagnosis outside hours.
• Work within a team for design and implementation of a new Hosting Platform.
• Provide systems expertise to evaluate and implement new capabilities.
