A leading company is urgently seeking a SC Cleared IT Systems Administrator for a long-term defence project. The role involves building and securing laptops, managing virtual machines, and supporting defence applications while requiring current security clearance and relevant technical expertise.

Qualifications

• SC clearance is required.
• Experience with Virtual Machines and various Linux architectures.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture (Azure and Oracle).

Responsibilities

• Build and secure new laptops, configure VPN access.
• Create users in Active Directory and support defence applications.
• Liaise with third-party contractors on software and infrastructure.

Job description

Duration:12 month+

We have an urgent requirement for a SC Cleared IT Systems Administrator / IT Support / IT Admin working on a long-term defence project. You will be required to work 3 days per week onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Build new laptops when required, securing to OS accredited level, configuring VPN access, and installing MDM.
• Creation of Users in Active Directory.
• Build Virtual Machines using Proxmox - Linux variants (Ubuntu and Rocky) and Windows.
• Install, maintain, and support several defence applications, including Sitaware HQ, Insight, OATS.
• Provide infrastructure and software support to IBM.
• Providing infrastructure guidance and support on upcoming builds and projects.
• Liaise and support third party contractors on software and infrastructure builds and configuration.
• MOD CIS experience
• Knowledge of various Linux architectures and use of CLi
• Experience building and managing virtual machines (Windows and Linux)
• Laptop builds (install and securing)
• Active Directory
• Understanding of AI use cases and LLM functionality
• Networks (CCNA level)
• Cloud Architecture (Azure and Oracle)
• Would suit an Ex-Signals ex-RAF with IT Admin and MOD Domain experience.
