Job summary

Interface Engineering Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer II (MEP) in Sacramento, CA with a hybrid schedule (2 days in-office per week). You will support HVAC design across multiple projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and grow through our leadership pathway and ESOP ownership.

The role requires a BSME or equivalent, 2–5 years of MEP/AEC experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and EnergyPro. H1-B sponsorship is not mentioned, eligible applicants encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent experience.
• 2-5 years' MEP/AEC design and consulting experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems in public safety, educational, and commercial sectors.
• Working knowledge of industry codes and standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for HVAC design.
• EnergyPro knowledge for building energy analysis and Title 24 compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform HVAC system selection, engineering & design.
• Prepare HVAC drawings, calculations, schedules, and specifications.
• Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and ductwork/piping sizing and layout.
• Apply knowledge of mechanical and energy codes and standards.
• Coordinate effectively across engineering disciplines and with project team members.
• Communicate effectively and efficiently manage assigned design tasks.
• Provide exemplary service to team members and clients.
