Job summary

Interface Engineering Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer II (MEP) in Sacramento, CA with a hybrid schedule (2 days in-office per week). You will support HVAC design across multiple projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and grow through our leadership pathway and ESOP ownership.

The role requires a BSME or equivalent, 2–5 years of MEP/AEC experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and EnergyPro. H1-B sponsorship is not mentioned, eligible applicants encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • BSME or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years' MEP/AEC design and consulting experience.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems in public safety, educational, and commercial sectors.
  • Working knowledge of industry codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for HVAC design.
  • EnergyPro knowledge for building energy analysis and Title 24 compliance.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Design Engineer II at Interface, you will be performing MEP mechanical designs and consulting on multiple projects. Your duties will include (but may not be limited to):

  • Performing HVAC system selection, engineering & design
  • Preparing of HVAC drawings, calculations, schedules, and specifications
  • Performing load calculations, equipment selection, and ductwork/piping sizing and layout
  • Applying a working knowledge of relevant mechanical and energy building and design codes and standards
  • Coordinating effectively across engineering disciplines and with project team members
  • Communicating effectively with and efficiently managing assigned design tasks
  • Provide exemplary service to team members and clients
Required
What You'll Bring:
  • BSME, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years' MEP/AEC design and consulting experience.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems in public safety, educational, and commercial sectors.
  • Working knowledge of industry codes and standards
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with clients and project team members in meetings or presentations
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for HVAC mechanical design and documentation
  • Wroking knowledge of EnergyPro for building energy analysis and Title 24 compliance
Preferred
  • A Professional Engineering License
  • LEED Accreditation
  • Working IES-VE knowledge
