Job summary

Cape Cod Healthcare is seeking a Medical Coder to assign and group diagnoses, procedures, and level codes based on patient records. You will enter data into the system, review documentation, and ensure coding compliance and accurate reimbursement classifications.

The role requires CPC eligibility and English proficiency, with a hybrid schedule and 40 hours per week. Prior outpatient coding experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of outpatient coding experience preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, sequences and validates assigned codes based on medical record documentation.
• Abstracts and enters demographic and clinical data into the computer system.
• Query physicians to obtain additional documentation for accurate coding.
• Maintains accuracy and productivity per department standards.
• Assists in onboarding new coding personnel and stays updated on coding rules.
