Job summary

Centers Urgent Care in New York is seeking a motivated Medical Assistant / Receptionist for a hybrid role that combines patient care with front office operations. You will assist providers with patient care, manage charts, and support administrative tasks in a modern clinical setting with on-site labs and EMR.

The ideal candidate will hold CMA or RMA certification, have at least 2 years of medical assisting experience, and demonstrate strong communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) required.
• Minimum of 2 years of medical assisting experience.
• Front desk or administrative office experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Tech-savvy with solid computer and EMR proficiency.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient care across all ages in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Support occupational medicine and worker’s compensation services.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient charts.
• Work collaboratively with providers, x-ray techs, and fellow medical staff.
• Operate within a fully equipped, modern clinical facility with on-site labs, digital x-rays, and EMR.
• Greet patients and visitors warmly upon arrival.
• Answer phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
• Schedule appointments and manage calendars.
• Assist with check-in/check-out, patient forms, and insurance information.
• Handle incoming/outgoing mail and deliveries.
• Support day-to-day clerical tasks (filing, photocopying, scanning, supply management)
