Job summary

Moog in Torrance, CA is seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer to help develop the next generation of hydraulic and electromechanical actuation systems for military aircraft. The role reports to the Mechanical Systems Engineering Section Head and follows a 9/80 hybrid schedule.

You will work with experienced engineers across the full product lifecycle, translate requirements into verified designs, and present findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM field.
• 3+ years of engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or defense product development.
• Experience across requirements development, design, integration, testing, verification, and validation.

Responsibilities

• Support development, integration, and verification of hydraulic and electromechanical actuation systems.
• Translate customer and system needs into clear, traceable engineering requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development efforts.
• Develop verification strategies, requirements traceability, and qualification plans.
• Create and execute test plans to verify system performance and compliance.
• Analyze test results and generate technical reports and presentations.
• Support system integration, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations.
• Present technical information to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Travel approx. 5–15% to Moog and customer locations in the U.S.
