Job summary

Moog Inc. in Torrance, CA is seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer to help develop flight control and weapons bay actuation systems for military aircraft. The role reports to the Section Head, Mech Systems Engineering and follows a 9/80 hybrid schedule in Torrance, CA.

You will contribute from concept through qualification, working with experienced engineers to solve complex challenges and deliver high-performance actuator systems while engaging across the full product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another STEM discipline.
• 3+ years of engineering experience, preferably in aerospace/defense product development.
• Experience with product development lifecycle phases (requirements, design, integration, testing, verification, validation).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment experience.

Responsibilities

• Support development, integration, and verification of hydraulic and electromechanical actuations.
• Translate customer/system needs into clear engineering requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development.
• Develop verification strategies, traceability documentation, and qualification plans.
• Create and execute test plans to verify system performance and compliance.
• Analyze test results and prepare concise technical reports.
• Support system integration, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigations.
• Present technical information to internal stakeholders and customers.
