Job summary

Moog in Torrance, CA is seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer to contribute to flight control and actuations systems for military aircraft. You will work in a hybrid schedule reporting to the Section Head, Mech Systems Engineering, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across Moog sites.

The role offers engagement across concept through qualification, with hands-on testing of hydraulic and electromechanical actuators, travel 5-15% domestically, and a path to advanced aerospace programs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field.
• 3+ years aerospace or defense product development experience.
• Experience across product development lifecycle (requirements to verification).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, integration, and verification of advanced hydraulic and electromechanical actuation systems
• Translate customer and system needs into clear, traceable engineering requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and engineering groups across Moog sites to drive product development efforts
• Develop verification strategies, requirements traceability documentation, and qualification plans
• Create and execute test plans and procedures to verify system performance and compliance
• Analyze test results and generate clear, concise technical reports and presentations
• Support system integration activities, troubleshooting efforts, and root cause investigations
• Present technical information to internal stakeholders and customers
• Travel approximately 5-15% to Moog and customer locations, primarily within the United States
