Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work in a hybrid schedule, in-office 3 days per week. The role focuses on applying thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics to power plant mechanical systems.

You will prepare calculations, specifications and reports, and may travel for design reviews and site verification. Candidates should hold an ABET-accredited BSME/MSME, have FE status or be an Engineer in Training, and possess CAD experience (AutoCAD or Revit) along with strong

Qualifications

• Requires ABET-accredited BSME/MSME with strong thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
• 1+ years CAD software experience (AutoCAD or Revit).
• 2+ years in practical mechanical engineering and project design.
• 2 years in producing technical plans, fabrication drawings and models.
• FE exam completed and Engineer in Training designation.
• Strong interest in numerical computations and problem solving.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics to projects.
• Prepare calculations, specifications and technical reports to support client recommendations.
• Conduct equipment sizing, optimization evaluation and selection for project needs.
• Support project teams with system engineering of power plant mechanical systems.
• May travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and field verification.
