Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) Seattle office is hiring a Mechanical Engineer I to help deliver energy-efficient building systems and advanced design solutions. You will work with experienced engineers, perform calculations, sizing, and equipment selection to support project success.

As you gain experience, you will lead mechanical project teams, write specifications, and engage in client meetings, with opportunities for mentorship and professional growth within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• BSME/BSAE from ABET accredited school.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Non-academic internship required or preferred.
• Leadership involvement in activities preferred.
• EIT certification (FE) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform load calculations, determine system sizing and layouts, and select equipment sizes.
• Complete field surveys and review equipment shop drawings.
• Lead mechanical project teams and write specifications as experience grows.
• Participate in project meetings with clients and other consultants.
• Support construction-phase work and on-site coordination.
