Job summary

Astronics AES is seeking a Mechanical Drafter in Kirkland, WA, to collaborate with mechanical engineers and produce precise CAD drawings and models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. You’ll support multiple teams, manage tasks to schedule, and document changes in the PLM system.

The role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to ASME Y14 standards, and a flexible hybrid work arrangement. An associate degree or equivalent experience is typical, with 2+ years of drafting experience preferred.

Qualifications

• - Associate's degree or suitable mix of education/experience.
• - Typically 2+ years direct drafting experience.
• - Knowledge of ASME Y14 drawing definitions and dimensioning.
• - Proficient in SolidWorks and 2D CAD (AutoCAD).
• - Familiar with PLM software (Empower-Omnify, Windchill).
• - Proficient with MS Office and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Create/modify detailed drawings from sketches, existing drawings or notes.
• Determine best dimensioning approach with design engineering.
• Create/modify Engineering Change Orders in PLM system.
• Work independently to complete tasks within schedule.
• Follow department procedures and team guidelines.
