Job summary

Dematic in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer with 5–8 years of mechanical design experience and a strong background in material handling. The role requires proficiency in Siemens NX CAD/CAM and AutoCAD, with familiarity in Amazon DC installation types and MTBH basics.

This is a hybrid, full-time position. The candidate will own and execute mechanical engineering scope for modernization/retrofit projects, drive quality and timely delivery, and manage project logs and forecasts

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
At least 5 years experience as a Mechanical Engineer, but 8+ years is preferred.
Proficiency in CET Configura and AutoCAD is highly preferred.
Familiar with Amazon DC installation type (ARS, IXD, SSD, Air Hub, non-sort).
Familiarity with Amazon MTBH, rates, and sub-system designs.
Strong background in Material Handling/automation industry.

Responsibilities

Own and execute mechanical engineering scope for assigned Amazon modernization/retrofit projects.
Ensure project targets are met for quality, on-time delivery, and cost.
Maintain up-to-date project log through department project tracking tool.
Regularly report on project portfolio performance including on-time delivery, budget, quality, risks.
Own short-term monthly forecast across assigned projects.
