DeVry University seeks an on-site Visiting Professor to teach with the Advantage Academy program in Chicago, IL. Classes run in 9-12pm or 12-3pm CST, with courses meeting once or twice weekly for eight weeks.

The role requires a Master’s degree with 18 graduate credits in the taught subject, and duties include syllabus development, material organization, and effective use of AI in teaching. Paid faculty development and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 18 graduate credit hours in the subject being taught is required.
• Applicants must upload unofficial graduate transcripts with their application.
• Degrees must be awarded by an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or CHEA, or by an international equivalent.
• Faculty must have a commitment to ongoing professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices.

Responsibilities

• Develops and provides students with an approved DeVry University syllabus following campus templates and course objectives.
• Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and updates all course materials.
• Uses online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions to prepare and deliver the course.
• Models effective oral and written communications that engage students and improve learning.
• Sets clear course expectations by publishing terminal objectives, schedule, and grade weights.
• Ensures exams align with course objectives and provides timely feedback to students.
• Embraces the responsible use of AI in the classroom to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
• Addresses appropriate and inappropriate student use of AI in academic work.
• Completes other duties as assigned.
