Job summary

ChemPoint is seeking a Market Developer – Chemical Formulating to act as a technical product specialist and secure new business for specialty additives across durable goods, automotive, household & institutional and building & construction markets. You will use formulation and application consultation to meet sales goals, collaborating with product managers and marketing.

The role is hybrid, based in Bellevue, WA and The Woodlands, TX, with a salary range of $80,320–$97,750 per year and benefits

Qualifications

• Science or Technical degree from fully accredited four-year institution or equivalent work experience is required; e.g. Chemistry, Biology, any Engineering discipline
• 3+ years’ sales or industry or product experience within relevant focus area
• Experience and sound knowledge of using PC and Windows OS
• Knowledge and experience working with MS Office Suite
• Technical proficiency for select products and industry segments, with the ability to quickly learn
• Technical product application, usage, and chemical process information

Responsibilities

• Execute sales campaigns by performing targeted sales calls, interacting primarily with project specifiers and technical/R&D personnel to identify, test, and refine product value propositions and share results with the Product Manager
• Achieve customer-focused solutions and work toward product line goals by defining objective, environment, resources, and plan. Foresee and mitigates risks associated to customer/supplier needs and potential solutions
• Support Product Line growth by taking sales opportunities through the full sales cycle and providing additional technical support as needed after the new business is transitioned to an Account Representative for maintenance
• Develop and demonstrate technical proficiency: working closely with customers, technical supplier contacts and Product Managers
• Build and deliver Product and Industry training; provide product/application specific training as necessary for sales representatives
• Assist sales representatives with technical sales calls to support application development and make effective product recommendations
• Assist Product Manager in campaign strategy development by helping to create and refine campaign/product collateral (internal and online)
