Job summary

CAI is seeking a motivated Mainframe Developer to advance our critical applications. The role requires 5+ years of COBOL coding, 5+ years of IBM OS/JCL (MVS), and 5+ years of CICS/DB2 development. The position is full-time contract and hybrid, with onsite work two days per week.

The candidate will design, test, maintain, and support mainframe solutions, produce technical documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical study.
• 5+ years IT and application development experience.
• 5+ years COBOL coding, testing, debugging.
• 5+ years IBM OS/JCL (MVS) experience.
• 5+ years CICS development, testing, debugging.
• 5+ years IBM DB2 development, testing, debugging.
• 5+ years developing technical and user documentation.
• 5+ years usability testing and system testing with end users.
• 5+ years developing and supporting stored procedures.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business and system requirements and translate into technical solutions.
• Develop and modify mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL.
• Perform coding, component testing, assembly testing, debugging, and production support.
• Develop and maintain program specifications and technical documentation.
• Conduct unit testing and participate in system and user acceptance testing.
• Collaborate with business users and technical teams for successful implementations.
• Support maintenance and enhancement of existing applications.
• Participate in database conversion and modernization efforts.
