Job summary

Advocates Legal Recruiting in Washington, DC, is seeking an Associate for a leading AmLaw 100 firm's M&A and energy transactions group. The role covers buy-side and sell-side deals, divestitures, and joint ventures, with deep involvement in energy projects and related contracts.

The ideal candidate has 3–4 years of law firm experience in M&A and/or energy transactions, experience with renewables or oil and gas, strong drafting, and issue-spotting skills; DC Bar admission or waiver is required.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of law firm experience in M&A and/or energy transactions.
• Exposure to renewables, oil and gas, or project development is a plus.
• Strong drafting and issue-spotting; able to work directly with deal teams and clients.
• Active DC Bar required or waive-in.

Responsibilities

• Buy-side and sell-side M&A, divestitures, and joint ventures.
• Energy transactional matters, including renewables and energy contracts.
• Collaborate with tax, benefits, labor, environmental, real estate, securities, and antitrust teams as needed.
