Job summary

ispace US is seeking a Production Test Engineer to plan, execute, and analyze testing for lunar lander hardware and subsystems. You will work with design, AI&T, and GNC teams to ensure requirements and industry standards are met, developing test plans and qualification activities.

You will coordinate test campaigns, develop tooling, and analyze data to validate processes and hardware, with opportunities for growth in a dynamic space program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of MFG and/or Test Experience in the aerospace or electronics realm.
  • Experience with instrumentation and data acquisition (SPICE, SQL, and NI hardware).
  • Familiarity with data acquisition systems, scripting (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB).
  • Experience with requirements verification and traceability methodologies.
  • Minimum 2 years in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability hardware testing, integration, or verification activities.
  • Experience developing and executing test plans, test procedures, verification documentation, and test reports.
  • Familiarity with qualification and acceptance testing methodologies for aerospace or other high-reliability systems.
  • Strong engineering documentation, configuration management, and verification skills.
  • Hands-on with hardware in lab, cleanroom, and manufacturing environments.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Experience with pneumatic testing at various pressures and volumes.
  • Knowledge of ISO, AS9100 quality standards.
  • Ability to drive process improvements and root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a small, highly technical team through development, qualification, and acceptance testing of lunar lander hardware and software.
  • Define test requirements, environmental conditions, and instrumentation/equipment needed for our Vehicle.
  • Develop, review, and execute test plans, procedures, and verification documentation for aerospace hardware, subsystems, and integrated systems.
  • Perform as a Test Engineer and Certified Test Conductor (CTC) for safe development and execution of integration and test procedures.
  • Plan and coordinate test campaigns, including facility requirements, ground support equipment, instrumentation, data acquisition, safety reviews, and logistics.
  • Design, develop and/or oversee fabrication of tooling and test fixtures as needed.
  • Execute tests with the help of test technicians, test engineers, or design team.
  • Analyze test data, document results, generate test reports, and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Collect and reduce data to determine if requirements are met and generate test reports for stakeholders.
  • Provide feedback and aid in Preventative Maintenance Plans and expansion of testing facilities.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to solve shop-floor issues and resolve non-conformances.
