Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant in Chicago to join a dynamic, fast-paced team. The assistant will support assigned attorneys, coordinate travel, calendars and other administrative needs to support litigation matters.

The role emphasizes strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines in a collaborative environment with a focus on client service.

Qualifications

• Legal Assistants must have a High School Diploma and seven years of litigation experience, preferably with MDL or class action litigation.
• Must handle multiple priorities and have excellent communication skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), TOC, TOA, Styles and PDF software.
• Experience with InTapp Time, Intapp Open, Chrome River Expense Reporting, Aderant, Interaction, iManage is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, revise, redline and proofread pleadings, letters, motions and related documents for Federal, State and local courts.
• Heavy case management and communication with courts, clients, witnesses, experts and opposing counsel.
• Assist with discovery requests, deposition exhibits, and trial binders and preparation.
• Know e-filing procedures for Federal, State and local courts.
• Create and maintain client and administrative files per firm procedures.
• Utilize workflow management to manage assignments and workload.
