Job summary

Benesch in Cleveland seeks a Litigation Legal Assistant to join a dynamic team. You will support assigned attorneys, coordinate travel, scheduling, and document management, and help with discovery, pleadings, and hearings in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma and seven years of litigation experience, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with firm systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; seven years of litigation experience.
• MDL or class action experience preferred.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with firm systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, revise, redline and proofread pleadings, letters, memos, motions and briefs at multiple levels.
• Heavy case management and communications with courts, clients, witnesses and opposing counsel.
• Assist with discovery, deposition exhibits and trial preparation.
• Knowledge of e-filing procedures for federal and state courts.
• Create and maintain client and admin files per firm procedures.
• Utilize workflow systems to manage assignments and workloads.
• Schedule appointments, manage calendars and conference room use.
• Enter and release attorney time; review proformas for billing.
• Perform initial conflict checks and open/close client matters.
• Monitor deadlines with Docket Department; coordinate travel and expenses.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external clients.
