Job summary

Visual Comfort & Co. is seeking a Lighting Technology Designer to create intelligent lighting control and shading layouts for premium environments.

You will use AutoCAD and related tools to produce precise designs and documentation, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure high-quality deliverables. The role requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and 3+ years of residential lighting/design experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Acrobat, and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in lighting design or related field is required.
• 3+ years of project-based residential lighting/design/drafting experience.
• Lutron/AVIXA/CEDIA certifications are a plus and can be earned.
• Proficient AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Acrobat, and Excel skills are essential.
• Dialux or AGI32 experience is helpful but not required.
• Experience presenting solutions to customers is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate system layouts and documentation for lighting, controls, and shading using AutoCAD or similar tools.
• Deliver designs consistent with Visual Comfort standards for client-facing deliverables.
• Lead technology presentations to builders, designers, architects, and integrators.
• Collaborate with Biz Dev, Project Designers, and PMs to grow existing accounts.
• Serve as a technical resource for internal teams and clients.
• Travel for client meetings, site visits, and showroom markets.
• Meet milestones and deadlines for design phases.
• Work collaboratively to achieve team goals and resolve design issues.
