Job summary

Stantec's Lighting Design group invites a recent graduate or early-career lighting designer to join a collaborative team working on high-profile buildings. You will contribute to lighting designs, luminaire selection, controls, energy-code compliance, and documentation.

The role is hybrid with at least 3 days in person, and offices in Seattle among others. Ideal candidates have Revit proficiency, BIM familiarity, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelors' degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Entry level new graduates to three years’ experience designing lighting systems and performing lighting calculations for projects.
• Familiarity with BIM applications such as SketchUp, Enscape, Navisworks, Lumion, Rhino.
• Understanding of applicable building and energy codes and ability to apply them for typical project types.

Responsibilities

• Develop lighting design solutions and collaborate with the design team.
• Produce lighting layouts in Revit.
• Perform photometric calculations using AGI32 or LightStanza.
• Ensure energy code compliant designs and provide code calculations.
• Handle lighting control intent, documentation and specifications.
• Assist with report writing.
• Develop presentation materials, renderings and graphic packages.
• Create luminaire schedules and pull product sheets.
• Develop and review mock-ups.
• Collaborate with the design team.
