Job summary

BGBx is seeking a life sciences strategy consultant to support engagements across clinical and commercial assessments, research synthesis, and client deliverables. You will mentor junior staff, lead portions of client meetings, and distill complex findings into actionable recommendations.

The role emphasizes hypothesis-driven analysis, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and clear communication to executives in a hybrid U.S. office setup (Washington DC, NYC, or Boston).

Qualifications

• PhD, MD, PharmD, MBA or BA/BS/MS with 1–3 years in life sciences strategy consulting or biopharma.
• Ability to synthesize complex data and draw logical conclusions through research.
• Experience leading research projects, cross-functional initiatives, or small teams.
• Experience presenting complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to mentor, collaborate with, and support colleagues in a team.
• Creative, big-picture thinking with keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a mentor and coach to small teams of Associate Consultants, supporting their professional development and research execution.
• Act as a direct resource for clients throughout engagements by facilitating and leading portions of client meetings, depending on project needs.
• Apply qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques, hypothesis-driven thinking, and structured problem-solving to distill complex research into actionable business recommendations.
• Develop clinical and commercial assessments by identifying and evaluating insights from primary and secondary research sources.
• Monitor and assess clinical, regulatory, and competitive landscapes, including clinical trials, scientific literature, conference presentations, and industry developments.
• Develop clear, compelling client deliverables that communicate complex scientific and business insights to executive audiences.
• Collaborate closely with project teams while receiving mentorship and support from experienced consultants and firm leadership throughout each engagement.
