Job summary

Microbac Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Business Development Specialist to drive revenue by sourcing new clients and generating leads across Wilson, Fayetteville, and surrounding areas. This hybrid role combines remote work with on-site duties at our Fayetteville and Wilson laboratories.

You will prospect, build client relationships, and develop business plans to increase sales, traveling 20-40% as needed. Commission opportunities are available and a Master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Food Science, Microbiology or related field
• Master's degree preferred
• Minimum 3+ years of related technical sales and marketing experience
• Must have strategic planning and execution experience – contracting, negotiating, and change management
• Excellent communication and presentation skills and abilities
• Confidence leading meetings and negotiations
• Residence within the communicated territory/region or willingness to relocate
• General understanding of the targeted industry

Responsibilities

• Prospecting and capturing new clients via inbound and outbound outreach
• Build strong, collaborative client relationships to meet business goals
• Develop and execute business plans to drive sales revenue
• Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, pricing, and competitors
• Collaborate with sales, lab staff and marketing on service offerings
• Travel within the assigned region to engage clients
• Prepare quotes and sales reports and maintain client records
