Job summary

Transamerica is seeking a Lead Tax and Regulatory Analyst to support tax and regulatory functions within life and annuity processing. This hybrid role requires analytical acumen to interpret complex tax regulations and lead issue resolutions for production systems and customer escalations.

Qualified candidates will have 5+ years in annuities or financial services, strong communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years with annuities, insurance or financial services.
• Associates degree or equivalent education/experience.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.
• Ability to work under pressure and show effective decision making skills.
• Self-motivated. Demonstrate strong analytical, customer service, number recognition and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• In depth understanding of fixed and variable annuity concepts.

Responsibilities

• Research complex transactions in relation to daily monitoring of policyholder processing.
• Maintain and support records for functions not system supported pertaining to tax law.
• Lead team in problem resolutions arising from production system problems or customer escalations.
• Interpret tax law changes and identify actions for departments affected by changes in taxation of annuities and life products.
• Serve as the lead for product enhancement initiatives impacting information reporting and withholding; coordinate testing and validate results.
• Support management by implementing and monitoring objectives; provide feedback on performance and customer satisfaction.
• Mentor team members to ensure correct handling and satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as assigned by divisional needs.
