Job summary

Harris Beach Murtha’s Knowledge Services team is seeking a Research Analyst to conduct legal, business, and other research supporting attorneys, staff, and clients. Requirements include 1–3+ years in legal research in a law firm, a Bachelor's degree, and familiarity with major research platforms.

This role offers a hybrid schedule across Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse NY and other locations. You will manage multiple research requests, synthesize information from diverse sources, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required; MLS or equivalent preferred.
• 1–3+ years of legal research experience in a law firm.
• Experience with major electronic research sources (Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg Law, Practical Law, etc.).
• Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent client service and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth legal and business research to support attorneys.
• Manage multiple research requests with competing deadlines.
• Collaborate with practice groups and Knowledge Services staff.
• Assist with research training for staff and clients.
• Evaluate and select research resources as needed.
