Job summary

The State of North Carolina - Health & Human Services is seeking an Agency HR Consultant I (NS) to oversee leave administration and ensure compliance with state and federal laws. This role supports HR partners and managers in leave procedures and requirements while leading a small team.

The position offers a hybrid-teleworking schedule with weekly onsite hours and opportunities to contribute to broader HR initiatives within DHHS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field from an accredited institution.
• Or a GED with 3 years of progressive HR experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administration and compliance of employee leave programs.
• Lead a team handling day-to-day leave management and serve as a resource for employees, HR partners, and managers.
• Support HR processes including recruitment, benefits, and policy interpretation as needed.
