Job summary

Addison Group in Irving, TX is seeking a seasoned Temporary Leave of Absence Specialist to join the HR/Benefits team on a contract of 90+ days. This role will own the end-to-end leave process and provide hands-on support for employee benefits and annual open enrollment.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of leave regulations and benefits administration, works independently in a fast-paced environment, and collaborates with carriers, brokers, and payroll. Hybrid schedule with standard hours.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional benefits experience, including leaves administration.
• Strong knowledge of leave programs and benefits administration.
• Ability to independently manage a workload and assume ownership.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree required.
• Understanding of payroll processes and labor compliance.
• Experience using HRIS and benefits platforms.
• Experience with carriers, brokers, or third-party benefits vendors.
• Bilingual Spanish/English skills are a plus.
• Experience in construction, engineering, or project-based industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end leave of absence process, including documentation, tracking, and employee communication.
• Advise employees and managers on leave eligibility, requirements, and benefits.
• Research and apply federal and state leave regulations, including FMLA and accommodation requirements.
• Administer employee benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations.
• Maintain accurate benefits and leave records in HRIS and benefits platforms.
• Respond to employee questions regarding benefits, coverage, claims, and enrollment.
• Support annual open enrollment activities, communications, and system updates.
• Reconcile benefit invoices and coordinate with payroll on deduction issues.
• Partner with carriers, brokers, and third‑party vendors to resolve benefits concerns.
• Assist with compliance, audits, reporting, and benefits documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
