S&P Dow Jones Indices in New York is seeking a Senior Lead Java Application Developer to design, develop, and support web-based applications and backend systems. You will lead a development team, drive technical solutions, mentor peers, and ensure delivery excellence across projects.

The role requires 10+ years in Java, strong J2EE/JMS/EJB, and experience with SQL/PLSQL. Hybrid work with two onsite days in NYC or Princeton, NJ, and competitive compensation is offered.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Java development with strong skills in J2EE, JMS, EJB.
• Proven experience leading software development teams or technical projects.
• Proficient in advanced SQL and PL/SQL.
• Experience with Unix scripting, vulnerability remediation, and application performance tuning.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of Java/J2EE applications for SPDJI systems and websites.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members across development, testing, and deployment activities.
• Develop web applications with rich front-end interfaces and integrate with internal/vendor platforms.
• Conduct system performance tuning and troubleshoot application issues.
• Interface with databases using advanced SQL and PL/SQL.
• Participate in code reviews, version control, and enforce best development practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business users, product owners, and IT stakeholders.
