Job summary

S&P Global Dow Jones Indices seeks a Senior Lead Java Application Developer to design, develop, and support Java/J2EE applications while mentoring a development team in a hybrid environment with two onsite days per week in NYC or Princeton, NJ.

You will drive technical solutions across the full software lifecycle, optimize performance, and collaborate with business users and IT stakeholders to deliver high-impact index applications.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Java development with strong skills in J2EE, JMS, EJB.
• Proven experience leading software development teams or technical projects.
• Proficient in advanced SQL and PL/SQL.
• Experience with Unix scripting, vulnerability remediation, and application performance tuning.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of Java/J2EE applications for SPDJI systems and websites.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members across development, testing, and deployment activities.
• Develop web applications with rich front-end interfaces and integrate with internal/vendor platforms.
• Conduct system performance tuning and troubleshoot application issues.
• Interface with databases using advanced SQL and PL/SQL.
• Participate in code reviews, version control, and enforce best development practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business users, product owners, and IT stakeholders.
