Job summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineering Technician to support fast-paced product development, prototyping, and testing. This position is based out of our Bridgeton, MO facility and will have the option to work an in person or hybrid schedule.

The ideal candidate will perform a blend of electrical engineering technician duties alongside mechanical fabrication. The role involves circuit assembly, bench testing, wire/cable fabrication, building prototype assemblies,

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Competent technical expertise across electrical and mechanical disciplines.
• Familiarity with electrical basic topics and test instruments.

Responsibilities

• Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified electrical and/or mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and prototype assemblies for products and proof-of-concept efforts
• Build and integrate prototype mechanical, cable, electrical enclosure, and electro-mechanical assemblies from engineering drawings, sketches, or verbal direction; iterate rapidly based on engineer feedback
• Support engineering with a variety of moderately complex engineering duties and/or hands-on tasks
• Demonstrate competent technical expertise across both electrical and mechanical disciplines
• Review project instructions, drawings, and specifications to ascertain test requirements, procedures, objectives, and to support design for manufacturability
• Set up and conduct tests of units, components, and prototype hardware
• Records test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test methods
• Operates and maintains FFF 3D printers, including model slicing/preparation, print parameter optimization, material selection, machine calibration, and routine maintenance
• Mentor and coach less experienced technicians
