Job summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems seeks a full-time Manager, Software Engineer to supervise a team of software engineers, ensuring activities are completed on time and within budget. The role is based in Bridgeton, MO with in-person or hybrid options, focusing on the design, development, analysis, documentation and testing of products and subsystems.

The candidate will mentor engineers, support employee development, and participate in recruiting when needed.

Qualifications

• Requires strong embedded software background with leadership experience.
• Proven ability to mentor and manage a software team.
• Experience delivering complex software systems on time and budget.
• Strong problem solving and design skills in software engineering.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a software engineering team responsible for design, development, analysis, documentation and testing.
• Manage budget, schedule input, and design assignments for the software department.
• Collaborate with staff to conceptualize system and software designs.
• Mentor and coach team members and junior engineers.
• Review customer specifications and translate into designs with cost considerations.
