Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Transmission Design Engineer to lead high-voltage line design from 69kV through 765kV. The role emphasizes mentoring, cross-team coordination, and rigorous adherence to client specs and industry standards.

You will work hybrid with substantial office time and potential relocation support. Ideal candidates hold an ABET-accredited BS in engineering, 12+ years in transmission design, and proven 500kV/765kV experience, plus PLS-CADD proficiency and strong

Qualifications

BS degree from ABET-accredited engineering program.
12 years of transmission design experience.
3+ years in 500kV and/or 765kV transmission line design.
Familiarity with electrical considerations for 765kV transmission lines.
Proficiency with PLS-CADD software.
Experience developing scopes of work, conceptual designs, design basis, equipment selection, and calculations/specifications.
Experience working with clients on transmission lines from 69kV to 765kV.
Knowledge of standards including NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE and ANSI.
Experience reviewing design drawings.

Responsibilities

Lead the design of transmission lines in 69kV to 765kV range.
Serve as SME in 500kV and 765kV transmission lines.
Mentor and train less experienced design team members.
Coordinate design activities to meet specs, codes, and client requirements.
Prepare reports and studies presenting technical information per S&L formats.
Perform independent reviews of others' work including calculations and PLS-CADD models.
Adhere to Sargent & Lundy's System of Processes.
