Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a Senior Transmission Design Engineer in a hybrid role, with an ABET-accredited engineering degree and 12 years of experience in transmission design. The role involves designing 69kV–500kV lines, mentoring others, and coordinating designs to meet client specifications and standards.

Proficiency in PLS-CADD is required, along with the ability to prepare scopes, calculations, and reports. Collaboration with clients and adherence to processes are essential.

Qualifications

• BS degree from an ABET-accredited program.
• 12 years of transmission design experience.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD software.
• Experience preparing scopes of work and development of conceptual designs.
• Experience with 69kV through 500kV transmission lines and client interaction.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 765kV range.
• Mentor and train less experienced design team members.
• Coordinate design activities to ensure installations meet specifications, codes, and client requirements.
• Prepare reports and studies presenting technical information to meet client requirements and company formats.
• Perform independent reviews of work including calculations, drawings, and PLS-CADD-based models.
• Adhere to Sargent & Lundy’s System of Processes.
