Sargent & Lundy in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced transmission design engineer to lead the design of 69kV to 765kV lines, serve as SME in 500kV/765kV, and mentor the design team.

The role requires a BS from an ABET-accredited program, 12+ years of transmission design experience, proficiency with PLS-CADD, and strong knowledge of NESC/IEC/IEEE. This hybrid position requires in-office work 3 days a week.

Qualifications

• BS degree from ABET-accredited engineering program.
• 12 years of transmission design experience.
• 3+ years of 500kV/765kV transmission line design.
• Familiarity with 765kV transmission line considerations.
• Experience with client projects for 69kV-765kV lines.
• Knowledge of NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• Experience reviewing design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of transmission lines from 69kV to 765kV.
• Serve as SME in 500kV/765kV transmission lines.
• Mentor and train design team members.
• Coordinate designs to meet specs and client needs.
• Prepare reports and studies per S&L formats.
• Review work including calculations and PLScADD models.
• Adhere to S&L System of Processes.
